How often do you feed rotifiers? I do every 3rd day.

This happens only when there is food in the tank (cyclop-eeze, rotifers).  I feed them every other day.

Those are the best acropora feeding pics I've ever seen.  I need to start adding rotifers.

Hi dkle,
Do you spot feed the corals or do you just dump the rotifers in the water?
Do you have lights/circulation on when you feed and how much do you
feed (say in 'x' ml/gallon terms?).
thanks!
regards,
-s

I just dump the rotifer in the water.  Acros are everywhere in my tank so it's hard to spot feed (and plus I have like No patience whatsoever).  I keep the Tunze in the tank on, but turn off the return pump to keep the rotifer in the main tank instead of being washed down to the sump.

I use frozen rotifers to feed my acros; one cube every other day.  Suzy graciously gave me some starter phyto and rotifers to grow last year when I started out.  A little thing called "work" however got in my way of culturing them.  As a result, I've been using frozen rotifers.  You can buy frozen rotifers at brineshrimp direct at a very low price (9 bucks last me a year).

I had been feeding them at 4-5:00AM when I get ready to go to work since acro have most of their polyps out at nightime.  I just recently purchase some alveopora and goniopora that close their polyps up at night.  As a result, I've alternating feeding at nighttime and daytime.

Hope that helps!

Hey Dale, how is it going?  I hope your tank is doig well.  When the time comes to set up your sump, feel free to stop by and pick up some macroalgae that are full of pods.

Thanks dkle.
I got some SPS frags from reptoreef and I plonked them in. I have DTs phyto
and I plan to use about 4-5 drops every 3 days or so, I have 1 montipora
digi. and 2 acro. sp. and 1 plate monti. I think everyone except the plate is
doing fine (I base this judgement by observing that some tiny little things --
polyps-- peep out of the calcium structures which retract if I bring an object
--like a plastic toothpick-- near it and they are colorful)), I was wondering if
I should feed them anything special other than DT. Oh another important
point is that I have a "massive" 2.5g tank. I will update my thread on the
General Posts section with new photos of the tank and would appreciate any
feedback regarding the care of these awesome corals (Thanks reptoreef, you
sure know how to grow them..)

Sshm, SPS don't eat phyto.  They are carnivores, so rotifers and zooplankton substitutes are the best.  Phyto are good for clams, some softies.  However, zooplankton will feed on phyto and in turn be eaten by acro.  Let me know how it goes.

Brian, I use el cheapo Sony DSC-V1 to take pictures and really don't know that much about photography.
