Took a few pics of my tank this weekend.  It may be small, but it has a lot of good stuff in it (at least I think it does).  Enjoy!

Full tank shot

My new clam

The lone fish and some corals (two montis, slimer and green birdnest)

Zoos, green milli, pocillopora, small toadstool

The big mama toadstool and the green birdnest

More zoos and a pink milli

Great looking tank, like a little forest.  What do you do with corals in your nano when they outgrow the room available?  Does that happen?  Do you frag them, keep the frag and get rid of the rest?  Or do you only fill it with corals that won't grow much?

What type of nano do you have?  Lighting?  I'd like to start a nano soon.  But from what I've heard, there's a lot of upgrading that you have to do, in order to have the right lighting and water flow to keep the sort of stuff you have.  Did you have to do much upgrading?

Perhaps I would be better at basket weaving. . . at least it would be cheaper!

I posted these pictures partly because i want to show off and to show what i have done with the small tanks in reference to the thread that was running about the nanocubes.

Lighting is a 250 watt DE Phoenix 14k
2 rio somethings with about 150 gph apiece

The only real upgrades i did was with the lighting and the hood.  I had Eric make me a new hood that was taller to incorporate the MH lamp and then the parts for the MH setup.  I replaced the pumps because the original ones got screwed up and i didnt want to fix it, but they were about the same flow.

As far as growth... most of these pieces were started as frags.  I thin the xenia as necessary, and the GSP are in need of a trim.

Wow, 250w DE for a nano!  You need to buy sunglasses for your corals and fish!  How do you deal with the heat and evaporation loss?

The 250 is probably overkill, but its the only lamp i use, no supplementation.

There are 4 fans on the back of the hood.  which leads to about 1/2 gal of evap daily.  Heat is not a problem with all the fans on.  Temp actually drops a degree from the time the lights come on till they go off.

Clam is from the aquarium.

Thanks for the compliments.. it means a lot coming from those who have tanks that I have admired.

I've heard for the best hook-up on top quality clams, to contact our own Shane Silcox(Desert Reefs)... supposed to have the best prices, too.

The tank is looking great.  Now you need to STOP buying and let it grow.  I know that funny coming from me, but it's true.

I have a 250w MH over our 20g frag tank.  It works great.  Keep up the good work!
