I recently had to replace one of my 2 no name bulbs that just sort of kept turning on and off at random. I decided 1st to try the XM 10k. When I recieved the 10k bulb it was much more yellow than my 14k bulb is. So I sent it back and recieved a 20k instead. Its much more blue than my 14k bulb but I can live with the white/blue, I couldn't live with the white/yellow. Your welcome to come by and see. I live in Pleasant Grove. PM me if your interested. I wish I could find a bulb that was reliable and had the cheep/white characteristics like my last bulb was.

I have ushio 10k MH 250watt that are supplement with pc actinics that I prefer over the 20k MH look.  I like the crisp white look, but the 20k really make the corals really glow.  Its all personal preference, your welcome to see mine I live by little cottonwood canyon just PM me if interested.

Asad...I am currently using an a 175W xm bulb for my 20g....it gives off a great deep blue and it inhibats the growth of most of you surf algaes. I posted some pictures of my new setup in the general post...."the new 20g"  that is the color without any photo altering. if you like....I have plenty of pictures...plus I have seen all my corals open more than ever under just this bulb compared to the old 55g tank that has 10K(96wPC)7.7k(96wPC) and the xm 2kk(175WMH)
Tiny bubbles in my head
:) what was the count again....1, 2, 8, 3

Great input guys. I think Ill be going with the 20K bulbs and not suppliment with actinics. Ill also have a 400W Iwasaki 6500 K to kinda balance out the light to a more whiter color.
