I bought a dispar anthias thursday, it still hasn't eaten.  From what I've read, it needs to be fed a couple times a day.  Will it be okay until it decides to finally eat?  And also, how to I keep it satisfied without overfeeding my tank?

Perhaps I would be better at basket weaving. . . at least it would be cheaper!

My Dispar and Bartletts love flake and Spectrum pellets, just feed small amounts many times.  It may take almost a week before it comes out and feels comfortable in its new home.  They are very shy, timid fish.

Also if you noticed frayed fins, there might be a tankmate that is harassing it.

What are you feeding it now?  It just might be picky w/ the foods that are being offered.

I'm feeding frozen brine, and some flake.  Nothing is harrassing it though, it looks just fine, and it will come out for a few seconds but then it darts back in.  I even tried a little garlic tonight, which got it anxious but it still didn't want to come out.

Care to elaborate Mark?  Nothing I have read has said that the tank had to be mature for this fish.
