Most people that choose to keep a Ray are not well experienced hobbyists. I had no experience with Rays so my first Ray, a male Blue Spot Ribbontail, died because of underfeeding, and perhaps loneliness. Since then, I have learned much about feeding and how to keep them. The pic above is the current female Blue Spot Ribbontail Stingray, very happy and healthy, I might add. But this requires extra filtration. I have a 4-6" bed of Oolitic sand, and tons of macroalgae growing in both the tank and the Refugium.
The space that this tank offers is the entire bottom because of the suspended reef. This provides a large bed of LS. The female is doing awesome and seeking a mate. I'll let everyone know when her mate arrives.
