He looks kinda black - if he is, it may be a rock crab. Nasty little creature and you don't want him in your tank. But get a second opinion. I can't really tell from the picture.

I'm with Mike. Your best bet is to do some research. Was this crab eating snails, fish, crabs or coral? Tell us as much as you can. Also try searching the forum for information on crabs:

Sorry, As soon as I found out he was bad......into the pot of boiling water, garlic butter  mmmmmmmm so good. ( JK ).  I put him in a bucket of tank water and a powerhead but he died anyway. I think the water got too cold while I was searching for some info on him...
