Got home from school tonight and found this thing on one my rocks with some Zoos.  Is it reef safe?  Should I take it out and get rid of it?

I've certainly learned a lot on here and hope someone can help.

I want to say bristleworm (which is good) but I just can't see it well enough and the link doesn't work for me.

Thanks, Mike.

This thing looks very caterpillar like at least the body does.  It doesn't seem to have any visible legs.  I have some bristleworms and this looks completely different.

Wow. Great picture and definitely not a bristleworm. I have no idea. Anyone?

Does it sometimes create a "snot", stringy web at one end?  Is is calcareous (hard)?  Is is a Vermetidae snail?

It does have "snot" that seems to be coming from it.

Vermetadae snail.  Mostly harmless, although it's been said that their "net" can irritate some corals.

I'll keep an eye on it, I was a little concerned because it was really close to the zoos and I thought it might try and munch on them.

Thanks!
