Topic: Ricordia Question Posted: April 20 2007 at 12:51am |
So I got two small ricordia frags yesterday, the first on superglued to a rock, the second I rubberbanded to a rock (I've never tried the rubberband method before) Anyway, the superglue one came of and is floating off by itself somewhere, but the rubberbanded one is still there. So here are the questions, how long do I need to leave the rubberband on, and is it okay that the rubber band is right in the middle of the ricordia, or is that going to kill it? (The ricordia did open up this morning... so I'm assuming I did something right...)
Thanks,
Tim

Give it a couple of days. Super glue does not work on softies. It irritates the flesh and they take off.

I've not had good luck with rics and rubberbands. You may need to wrap it around a small rock with bridal veil or let it attach to some sand and glue the sand to a rock.

Ive done the sand. Put some sand or rubble in a cup. I put it in a cup in my sump with the Ric in it. A couple of days later "wola" it was attached to something I could glue.
Thanks Mike for Reminding me!
