How crazy am I?

Does anyone have experience with Garibaldis?

From what I have read I should get a juvenile collected in warm weather.

Any other precautions?

Advice?

Get a juvenile collected during the warm months as they are a cooler water species living off the Southern California coast. They do get 12-14" and live 25 years or more.

I think they're awesome too.  But where would you get one?  I've never seen one in any LFS.

Fresh from the fetid waters off the coast of Ensenada:

Gary survived the night.  I was nervous he would be be a bully but actually he's quite a wimp... right now, anyway.  My coral beauty really has it in for him.  We'll see how this all plays out.  They're roughly the same size, and nearly identical in shape.  Right now it's all chase and no biting or anything.  Gary is a faster swimmer than the coral beauty.

Okay. I can officially recommend the Garibaldi Damsel for the reef tank. Gary is working out great! He doesn't bother anyone or anything. He is entertaining and colorful. Get one!
