I have a 30 gallon reef, I use a Skilter 400 (a skimer and filter in one, which has been pulling out lots of stuff, works great).  It just started leaking this morn, so im going to seal it up after work.  Will my tank be ok with out a filter and skimer for a few day? I bought it from Steve, and it seems to be a nice little skimer.  Is there a skimer that works for a 30 gallon thats around a hundred bucks?

Your tank will be fine as long as you still have water circulation and live rock for filtration.

I ran 29 gal for over a year without a skimmer.  I wouldn't worry... maybe just toss another powerhead in.

Do you think I just just get a different skimmer or use the Skilter I got from Steve?  It seems to work well.  My water limits are great!  Cal 460, alk 11, ph 8.3, rates 0, rites 0, amm 0, phos 0.  It does pull up the crap into the catch tray.  I dont get very much anymore, I do 3 gall water changes every saturday and that really helps.  What would you do...stick with the skilter, or buy a skimmer?

Thanks,

Josh

I'd stick with the Skilter, but I'm cheap

I would go with the Skilter or go without. Either way I would keep doing the water changes.
