I'm just wondering if I should upgrade my MH's. I currently have 2- 175w 10000K ushios. I have some sps, and they are doing great. My Acro's are doing good to but they lost there colour. If I upgrade my lighting will there colour come back? Or does there colour have to do with water quality? Thanks

Lighting plays a huge role.  But "upgrading" may not be the best term.  Maybe "altering" or something like that.  I mean two 175 watt halides on a 10 gal tank is a lot of light.  But then again two 175 watt halides on a 100 gal tank is not nearly enough.

What else do you have in addition to those halides?  If nothing, then I would suggest some VHO actinics of some sort.

I was reading an article on SPS coloration the other day. Not only does lighting have a very important part on coloration, but in their studies Alkalinity played a very important role as well. They increased their dKH to 10 and overnight the SPS's colors improved.

Here is a great link to that article, it discusses all kinds of factors on SPS coloration.
