I would LOVE helping the WMAS...But...I am now committed elsewhere on the 1st Thursday of every month. Since I would rarely be able to attend the club meetings, regretfully, I must decline.
I might get in trouble for this (haven't asked permission), but I nominate my wife Anna Lee (Awinter)

I WISH, I WISH, I WISH! I am deeply honored by the nomination and if I thought I had any capacity to fill the needs of such an outstanding club, I would accept in a New York minute. Without giving you all a laundry list of excuses, I cannot accept while knowing that, with life as it currently is, I would be an embarrassment to myself and possibly a dissappointment to you all. You deserve much more than what I can currently give you.

I will accept the nomination. As far as distance, Crystal has more to bring to the club than just a pretty face at the meetings. Having been involved in the club in Ohio, she has seen things that work, and can bring in some fresh ideas that have been profitable. We are striving to take the club to new heights through freindship, advertising and working with local store owners. We also want to make sure that every voice is heard, even if a person's views are not the same as ours. VOTE CRYSTAL FOR VP!!!!! and by association, Jerry for President....

I would like to nominate Gaylyn Wilkinson (Mrs Viper) She I feel would do a great job for the club. She has learned alot and we are all still learning more. She very much enjoys the program and the salt, if not for her I would not be doing this myself.
She will put 100% of herself into this.

Everyone does know one the biggest part of the part of being in the presidency is that you have to attend the meetings?

Thanks RockStarFish,
I know Adam already posted another posted regarding some of this, but I think it is important to point out that attending the meetings is the minimum that should be expected of a presidency member. It is not uncommon for presidency members to take 10-15 days of work off every year and donate hundreds of hours of their time for the club. Some presidency members have donated in-kind thousands of dollars to the club (sometimes in the form of donations, gas, etc.).
I am not saying you need to quit your job or donate money to be in the presidency. My point is that presidency members should be committed to help the club out.

I would be happy to accept the nomination for presidency member. I have free time that I can donate to the club as I am a teacher and have summers off.

In my opinion, anyone who volunteers their time and efforts, should be accepted into the Presidency or council. Elections should be help for president, but the rest should be to everyone who volunteers.
People should apply for certain positions, there is no reason why some can not have two or more people involved in that certain job and be appointed to that position.
We need to keep this from becoming a "good ole boys club" with the same people running everything and making all the decisions.
I have been involved in high political jobs in the past, and all to many times this is what it turns out to be. This is a great club, and there are some great members, but we do need new blood in, and not just the same old stale ideas, beliefs and opinions.
If the same people keep running everything year after year, and nothing changes then some will become disinterested and no longer be active. Take a look at the membership roster, there seems to be a few hundred members, but only a few are really active. Why is that?
Again my 2$ worth.
