So I have a stupid question, I have a clownfish in my frag tank, and suddenly today there are a bunch of white tiny egg looking things all over in my white star polyps.

I know clowns can change sex, but will they lay eggs without a mate?

I dont know what else it could be...

This is the best pic I could get with my crappy camera

I don't think a clown can be both male and female and the same time. Shrimp can do it. Clowns can't.

clown eggs are orange and they prefer to lay them on flat surfaces. Its more than likely those are snail eggs.

I didnt think so either, but all kinds of strange things happen in our tanks everyday... Maybe I have the worlds first Hermaphrodite Clownfish!

Im at a loss for ideas as to what else it could be, looks alot like eggs and I dont have  pair of anything.

I do however have a fire shrimp.....

all clownfish are born male. Eventually one will become dominate and larger and turn female. Once a clownfish is female it cannot turn back to a male.

I dont think they are snail eggs either as they like to lay them on flat surfaces as well in a zig-zag pattern .... Where are you at I will be out and about today and could possibly swing by your place and try to get better pictures ...

What else is in the tank?
