So I just wanted to get some idea from all of you what kind of a photo cycle you are running. I have two 250W MH and two T-5 VHO Super Actinics on my 110g. I run the t-5s from 11:30A-10:30P and my MH from 2:30P to 8:00P.  My tank gets indirect sunlight from the room its in from about 8:00A to 11:00A. I run my sump light (PC) from 8:00P to 8:00A.

So, thats 11 hours for my T-5s, 5.5 hours for my etal Halides and 12 hours for my refugium.

I have a good mix of zoos, LPS, softies, gorgonias, a clam, and now starting more SPS like a green slimer, acro, and a green monti.

How does that sound? How does it compare to what you all are doing? Could I (or should I) run the MH longer, the T-5s, the refugium...The tank looks good, but if I could get better growth with a longer cycle and not fry stuff, I would prefer faster growth Clap

Let me know what you all do and what you think?

8-12 hours is fine. I think I ran 11 hours on my 120 and 10 hours on my 34. I think I run about 16 hours on my 10 gallon but it is a manual system so I am not very consistent.

Mike, I run 11 hours on the T-5s, but less than 6 on the MH. Do you think that is too little? At what point is it (MH exposure) too much for the livestock generally? (as opposed to the pocketbook Ouch)

I think that is adequate. If you get more in to SPS you may increase the MH to 8 hours. Up to a point a longer lighting period should give you more growth.
