I just installed a new UV Sterilizer to my 94g tank. Is there anything I should be aware of? Should I carefully adjust for how long is it on initially? I know that running phosban for instance initially will shock everything in a tank. Is there anything like that that I should know?

I don't think you will run into any of those kinds of problems with UV
 
When I hooked mine up I just let it run 24/7
 
The only difference I noticed in my tank is the water is clearer than before and the nuisance algae buildup on the tank has slowed considerably
 
Did not notice any "side effects" on the fish or corals
- My Current Tank: 65g Starfire (sitting empty for 2+ years) -

* Marine & Reef tanks since 1977 *
