Didn't Bird World donate stuff around Christmas time and the big raffle? I thought for sure I heard their name bounced around. Hmm...
Well, I guess we all should strong arm the non-blue stars then. Thats what we are talking about here.  Its basically a shakedown...pay or don't play...I get it...it's probably a good strategy to take...not necessarily the only one, but it could be just as effective as playing nice. In fact, we might be able to force them to be more supportive by boycotting their stores altogether until they pay up...now that would get their attention! Or would it? Wouldn't be my way of doing it, but I bet it would show real quick whether or not we (WMAS) matter in the LFS market.
I am being a bit extreme to illustrate a point.ÂÂ

That's great to hear! Eric has always been a supporter of the club and I'm glad people turned up to thank him.

Definatly extreme. Not a good Idea if we want the support of the stores.

I wonder if that show tank was on a controller like a Neptune? If it did, it should have an email alert to multiple people when it reaches something like 83 degrees, giving you ample time to take action. I love controllers for this very reason. Also, my tank shuts off all the lights at 82.5 degrees.
On the other topic, making them have to be a sponsor to participate is 'pay or no play' and somewhat of a shakedown. We could even take it a step further and not list them on our site if they are not a sponsor I guess. Personally, i think that they should all have been a part of this and we would have had an opportunity to show the same force that Eric experienced above.
Last, didn't Bird World donate stuff at the November or December meeting?

It is controlled. However it isn't set up to call. This tank has had some issues in the past. Its still not been established if its just bad luck or being sabotaged by some ass. We have locked the doors to keep people out due to foreign objects being deposited in the sump and probes being unplugged etc.
This was the last straw and many of the systems and procedures are being redone to keep it from ever happening again.

Hmm, if its controlled then what made the temp go to 102? The controller should shut the lights off at overtemp. Was the heater setting messed with?
Real bummer.

Yes. Thats all I'm willing to go into. Its a bummer that has cost them a ton of money. You would hope that you wouldn't have to worry about people messing with it but it has happened both in stores and commercial tanks all over the valley. Some people are just mean.
Hopefully with the new changes and other things in the works they will never have this happen again or it will be proven who did it

I am sad I had to miss all this. But anyways I went to Marine Aquatics and they had a fish and some gorgeous acans I wanted to get prices on but they were so busy I couldn't get help. Not the store's fault really. You can't help 12 customers at once. I was really gald to see Marine Aquatics thay busy.

Dion, If it was someone who did this on purpose, Post their name. They should be shot but at least kicked out of the club and the valley for such a thing.

I must admit that we have had the same problem with the neptune being messed with or unpluged, this is why all info get sent to my phone the seconf it happens so i can make sure there isn't a problem. if someone unplugs anything it send me a message to my phone and alerts me. Let me know if there is anything i can do to help...

If it was done on purpose I hope they figure out who it was and prosecute them.
