I don't have any personal experience, but from what I've read they are a "taboo" aquarium fish. I don't think they do too well in home aquariums.

I think it's a kind of hit and miss fish. I've heard that some do fairly well in aquariums (2 yrs or so) and some don't. Also I think their main diet is sponge, which is hard to provide in our little aquariums (or in food, for that matter). I'd say it's not a beginner fish, but in experienced hands it might be ok.

Thanks guys, I'll probably steer clear of them for now, just wanted to find out about them since they really are a cool fish.

If they do do well, they'll more than likely nip at your corals.

I have had "0" personal experience with them. I have just heared that they are difficult to keep. They are on many "not for the hobbiest" lists. I would recommend a Heniochus instead - Apparently they are great Atapsia eaters too.

Yep, it was awesome. One of the best fish I ever had. However, only Idol I've ever bought because of their terrible track record. LFS had him for 6 weeks, and he ate frozen brine, so I chanced him.
Glad I did, like I said one of the best fish I ever had..... wouldn't buy another one.
