 i have to to a science project for my chemistry class and i want to have it be fish related.

Something that has always fascinated me is the relationship of Alkalinity and Calcium. When one is up the other goes down. And how a healthy environment exists when the hobbyist allows the tank to reach a natural balance rather than trying to artificially manipulate Alk and Ca above their equilibrium.
The other thing that is so cool about this is that we can adjust both Alk and Ca using chemical products found at home.
