Why do clownfish host?

I have 3 clownfish that host in different corals.  In all my reading, I read about them hosting but I can't find out why.  Is it just reflexive and built into them?

I don't know why, but I know that Renne's clown does that to.  While I was there for the reef tour, it was ticked off, bucause a coral fell off the rock above it's "assigned" coral.  Mabey you should ask her!!

It's instinct, deep in their psyche, for protection.  A clownfish in a real reef, without an anemone host, would last about 5 minutes before he found himself in someone elses mouth.
