is it true that the ph changes depending on the time of the day?
It's not about what you know but about who you know

Algae in the tank, in corals and all over even if you don't have macro, will release carbon dioxide and take in some oxygen after the lights go out. This will lower the pH. CO2 can also be higher in the winter time and lower the pH, so it's good to have a power head moving the water to the top of the tank and creating some ripples. This and other water to air contact can help gas exchange and stabilize this.
