Ok, looking to try out the "cheaper" way of dosing 2-part now...what do I need?

I thought I heard Baking Soda for Alk dose....and some de-icer for Cal...any particular brand...also once I get these two things, how much to use to mix up and what not?  Any links, or details?  Or perhaps I shouldn't even go this route to save some cash?

try this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php#12
I use Prestone Drive Way Heat for Ca.  Arm and hammer for Alk.  Can't remember the brand but it's another de-icer I got from Costco something like "extreem 8300" for MgCl and epsom salts (again from Costco) for the other part for the magnesium mix.
