Will Clownfish host in condys? I have heard yes and no but I want to hear from somebody who has had an experience with this issue.

Also, what are peoples opinions on condys? I really like their color ( and that they are cheap) but I have heard that they are bad for your tank.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Condy's are awesome.  I have a few.

Chances of a clown hosting in one.... very very small.

You'd probably have better luck with them hosting in a GBTA or RBTA.

Clownfish will host about anything even LPS. Keep in mind if the clownfish is Captive bred it will take longer to host a anemone. Some clownfish wont host in their entire life

I had a Clarkii host in a condylactic anemone.  But it is not common.

It's a fright response. If a Condylactis is the only anemone in the tank and something fightens the Clownfish, it will head for cover into the anemone. I recently got two locally raised Ocellaris babies (3/4"). As soon as I placed them in the tank, they immediately ran for the rRBTA and would not leave it for several days, even for food. Now they are out of their anemone more than half the time. They are the only fish in the tank so there is little need for cover.

I think clarkii clowns will host in just about anything.  I had one in a condy anemone.
