So not really sure what this is and was hoping for a little help here on the board. It appears to be an algae but I am not sure. It is completely white no color at all almost looks like hair algae very short and spreading very fast. Nothing in the tank is touching it. Tank is a 100g. Have turbo's, cerith, and Astraea snails (probably around 30 total need to replenish Smile). Red and blue leg hermits (maybe 10 not a big fan of hermits). Naso and Sailfin tangs, fox face, flasher wrasse and potters wrasse for fish. Also have a serpent star and tiger tail cucumber. Around 110 pounds of utah rock and figi. No idea on how much sand but it's around 2" deep in most places. Sump has an algea turf scubber that's been running for about a month and cheato with ruble rock and dsb. Sump is on reverse daylight. Running carbon and a way under sized skimmer Smile. Lighting is 6 39w T-5's and 2 175w mh's.
Water parameters are
1.024 sg
alk 8.6 dkh
calcium 450 ppm
Mag 1250
Haven't checked ph, nitrates or nitrites forever but can if needed. All corals seem to be doing well so I haven't bothered checking.

Pics are kinda hard to make out but here we go:

Probably the best one. Look in the upper right hand side

Full tank left side

Full tank right side

Thanks for any and all help.
Ryan

If you make it idiot proof, someone will find a better idiot!
Well 100g crashed when I moved it. Starting a 50g cube now.

Agreed.

Thanks for the detail and pics.
It doesn't get any longer than about 1/4-1/2 inch right?
Tank conditions have created a bloom which will recede in a month or two.
FYI, algae is never white, except when it's dead.
Fungus is not bad. Mushrooms that we eat are a type of fungus, so no worries mate. Big smile
