Just got back from having a water test at the LFS.   Nitrates and nitrites are at barely detectable levels..  Good.  He said that my phosphates are pretty high though..  close to .25..  He suggested some Phosguard and I purchased it, but it was pricey and they only had a container that has enough to handle my small 10g tank for years..  So before I crack it open and stick it in there, I thought I'd ask here if there is a better option...

You can get a one pound bottle from BRS for about $20.00 but if it's just a 10 Gallon tank I would take care of it with frequent water changes. Just changing a couple gallons per week should bring the phosphates down. Are you using RO Water? If not the phosphates may be coming from your tap and top off water.

Take the container back for a refund, but I wouldn't mention this discussion.
Don't worry about the Phosphate (PO4) levels. It's not a big deal in this new tank with no SPS coral. You just set up the tank and I gave you some LR with Macroalgae. As the bacteria and especially the Macroalgae grow the PO4 will be eaten up and all will be well.
Honestly, that PO4 is nothing to worry about

OK..  Thanks Mark.  It looks like the cheato is growing nicely..  The other hasn't grown much yet..  but It's not gone all yellow so I'm not worried.
