When I need to be really sure... I buy the actual All Glass Aquarium silicone from the pet store. And it is super easy if this is a glass tank that is empty. you can smear it along the bottom super thick and smooth it out with your finger. It's way easy.
And once you buy the silicone and open it... hey it's open so go ahead and use it. Seriously, put that stuff in there super thick, you'll never see it again.

When I built my custom sump about 6 years ago, I used DAP Aquarium Sealant 100% Silicone. You can find this at Home Depot and maybe even Lowe's.

Like Adam said the All Glass brand of silicone works well, if you can't find it you can buy 100% silicone from Home Depot or Lowes. Look for GE silicone I (not II). These two will work well for redoing the INSIDE bead don't use it for the main seam between the glass panels, its not strong enough for that.

A little trick i like to use on the visible seals: run masking tape on either side of the joint about 1/4 to 3/8 away from the joint, then run a bead, as soon as you run the bead smear it with your finger then remove tape...looks factory when finished. @tcfab, What type of silicone is used for the primary seal during assembly? Thanks, Dustin

Momentive RTV 103 or 108 available at Grainger. VERY strong stuff, it has a much stronger psi rating then standard silicone from lowes or home depot.

I agree with Adam and David. FYI, I was looking for some the other day and found that DAP has re-labled it as "Household Adhesive Sealant - 100% silicone - aquarium safe " The tube still has the familiar aqua-blue color.
