Hi, another new member here.
I've done a lot of freshwater in the past, including cichlids and some brackish. I even worked for the USU Experimental fish lab for a year way back in school. I ended up getting a bit burned out on it and setting it aside about 5 years ago when I just got too busy. I've been looking at starting a reef to get back into fish keeping for a while.
So, with the storm keeping us out of the yard, I convinced my wife to go on the reef tour. After a couple of nice reef systems, she actually suggested I join the club and get a tank set up. Who am I to resist the wife's suggestion to get involved in another expensive hobby?
Now I'll actually start putting together a system, probably centered around a 40 breeder.
Thanks for the great reef tour, everyone!

Here is what a customer said while on hold Oh my gosh! Did you open the door? I told you not to open the door. Dre is in here completely naked and he's got freak'n Macaroni and Cheese in his hands.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I'll have questions, once I start actually designing, rather than just researching...
Fortunately, I like that part.

I may have to take you up on that. You look close to me.
I'm just starting to put a design together, then I'll probably post it here for comments/suggestions.
One idea I have is to design it to be more of a peninsula design, i.e. the short side would be against the wall with the other three sides open for viewing. I'm just not sure how to design the flow to ensure the entire reef gets enough flow, where the overflow and return would have to be on one short end then.
