First, I'd leave it to grow there. That's the purpose of a Refugium - to grow algae there so it doesn't grow in the display.

I'd add just a few snails to the Refugium to help in harvesting nuisance algae as it grows. I'd also recommend changing the Refugium light bulb to a cooler white. I would not encourage nuisance algae growth, even in the Refugium. A bright cool white bulb grows marine algae really well, capturing nutrients that would ordinarily be used by algae in the display tank.

im starting to get this red algae in my Refugium is there something i can do to get rid of it,i have a 6500 bulb over the top and the plants are growing great but theres this red stuff poping up,please help
