Looks like it is doing really good to me. I'm sure that it is getting ready to take off and branch out.

I hope it starts sprouting soon because its been on that rock for over a year now and I only have that small head on it. Maybe ill cut it off and glue it somewhere else in the tank and see what happens. It looks like it has lots of mini heads that will sprout soon too.

I have heard that if you damage a portion of it the coral will start to branch out from that area. You can use a knife or screw driver or something sharp and hard enough to scratch it.

White Reef I'll give it a try, would fraging a small piece do the same thing? Sculpin, I think your right about the hold it's got, it could grow a six food long branch and it would still be strong! It looks good I just want some branches.

I fraged a small piece but forgot to scrape it so I will do that tomorrow. Ill let you guys know if I get any good results. Im wondering if its been encrusting so much because of the angle of the rock. Once it encrusts to the top maybe it will branch more at the top toward the light.

Some one above said it but If you put something buy it that will sting one side of it it will shoot up all over. I put a hammer close to my coral that was doing that and with in a week or two it was growing vertical. Not to close though. Looks nice though

It hasn't really changed too much. It now has a lot of small heads but seems to follow the same growth pattern. It's right under the MH so I'm thinking it might be getting enough light. I need to try and scratch more areas of it and see what happens.

2+ inch frags? If so, I'll take one. I'd even trade you my three 1/8" pieces.

Yeah I'll do frags of this beauty for $35 and inch. Dave, I can let a piece grow out for you and let you know when it's 2" or longer. The longest now is about 1.5".
