Topic: 1 Sargent Damnsel 1 Tennis Racquet Posted: January 17 2012 at 10:21pm |
Have ya ever had a fish that ya HATED so BAD that ya dream of ways to KILL IT then bring it back and KILL IT again!!!!!!!!!
This thing strikes a Nerve that is just Undescribable.
There is NOthing that i would enjoy more than SMAKING this THING with a Tennis Racquet.
Trashes my sand, Torments my other fish, picks up and drops my corals in my Tube anneome( which he really is a good shot ) and usaually you can not get them out fast enough before being stung to Death.
Tried fish traps and even sat for about 2 hours with a MEAT FORK trying to Eradicate this DEVILS SPAWN. (To no avail by the way).
To much rock in a 150 gallon tank to remove. Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Ug. I have a dwarf fishers angel that I want to eradicate. It's in my wife's tank and she calls him "Little F***er" every time she goes by the tank. Soooo angry at that fish.

borrow someones tank, fill it up, get all the measurements right and then transport all ur rock, drain that sucker down and then net the fool! It's a lot of work but really...don't you want to have a harmonious tank?

I have a pretty drastic method that has worked well for me in the past. I am an avid fly fisherman, in flyfishing you often use very very small little flys with tiny little hooks. I recently had a red coris wrasse that was picking on my clam, flipping over anything on the sand bed and just being an overall pain in the rear. I got the smallest little hook i could find and hooked a small piece of krill (also used mysis) and dropped it in the tank. sure enough it grabbed hold, i set the hook and he was out. Before i put it in i made sure the barb on the hook was removed to prevent serious damage to the fish's mouth. This method has worked really well for me, however it is difficult because if a fish you don't want to catch grabs hold you can sometimes accidental hook them. I have caught several fish out of my tank this way and i have never injured or killed any of the fish in the process. If you would like to try this i have everything you would need to give it a try, sounds like you are pretty desperate like i was!

Barbie fishing pole. I've seen it done, never done it myself.

I've tried the hook method too. I picked up a pack of hooks and some 1 or 2 lb fishing line for under $10 at Sportsman. My anthia took the bait twice, but I was unable to set the hook. All my other fish kept trying to bite the hook too, so I probably won't try it again.
I've been thinking about a tiny spear gun or stunning device would be very marketable.

I was able to catch fish in my tank using the hook and line process. I still have some micro hooks that work great for this. If you are interesting them, let me know.

The problem with the fish hook method is that inevitably the fish you want out is also the smartest fish in the tank.
I spent 2 hours trying this method to get a 3 stripped damsel out of a friends tank. We caught every fish except the one we wanted.
I actually got fed up with a couple fish in my tank that I was unable to get out and decided it was time to go all out and remove them. I set up shop and tore down my 180 completely, removed the fish, (one was a wrass so I had to sift the substrate to find him,) and set the tank back up again. You have to get really desperate to go with this method, but after they were out and the tank was set back up, I was soooooooo relieved. After 2 years my zoanthids that the other fish, a butterfly, was eating are finally grown back to what they were pre "biggest mistake ever".
