Anyone have an experience where your frogspawn is doing well but your candy cane is not? All params test normal, and the tank seems well... again my frogspawn look great. But for some reason my candy canes are just not doing well.

I too have the same issue.... They are living but not "thriving" all my other LPS seem super happy.

With that said, I have not tested my water in 2 years so I couldn't tell you where my params are.

All great suggestions. Believe it or not but like 10 minutes after I posted this I decided to move some of the candy cane to see if I could change up lighting or water flow. Right then I saw one of my fish nip at it.

Unfortunately I love this fish.

I've seen one my angels (Bermuda angel) and a naso tang pick at it. I'm still torn on what to do here. If it gets worse I'll have to pull it.

At least is was not an anemone doing it. I lost a small colony when a near by anemone opened its mouth and ate it. One of the odd things I have seen over the years of reef keeping.

Just an idea but if you can move them why not put them in or more so under an actuation box.  Just for a few days.  It will give them a chance to heal up and maybe a chance that the fish will forget that they like them.

Yes, the big colony. Trying out some frags now, and have moved the colony to another tank. Wasn't feeling good about it.

In case anyone is wondering... the coral improved almost immediately in the other tank. It looks great again. Not sure what my next step will be.

YES!
I moved the colony to the frag tank where it looks amazing.  In only a couple days it looked amazing.  Decided to try some candy cane frags back in the main tank in different areas.  Almost all of them dead within a couple days.  Regardless of where I put them in the tank.  The only frag that is still alive is one I put in between some soft corals in a tight spot.
It looks like my fish really do like eating candy cane corals.  The one they can't get to is doing fine.  The massive colony is still in my holding tank until I get the next tank up and running.
