So i have an Led system over my tank well. It consists of two heatsinks over the tank...
I have 14 White 10,000K and 14 "royal blue" on each heat sink.
My question is, does the actinics help the coral growth? Or is it strictly for the color???
I have both of them on at full power!!!
I like the bluer look, but it i dont know if they grow with just solid blues....

Also correct me if i am wrong,,,, corals can grow under 6500K lights, but the colors dont "pop" and your tank can become overpowered with algea? True??

Thanks

I am not a light expert, but my favia's green color went away under a 14,000 kelvin 150W MH light. This was not a visual effect of the blue light, but actual pigment in the favia that went away. I tried changing the depth of the favia with no luck. When I added the blues, the green pigments came back. I now have a ~150W PC light with 25% white and 75% actinics, and have seen plenty of growth.

I have not. You have offered before but life keeps getting in the way. I have seen your pics and your tank looks beautiful.
