I just noticed today that my Yellow Tang has a clear bubble on his side. What should I do? I will load pictures tonight!

That's definitely odd - and probably not good

But I need to see a photo to tell what it is

How large is the 'bubble"?

Yea, probably not good, when you say clear, is it like faded yellow? Also does he eat and seem fine? Does he rub up against rocks?

Yeah its like a faded yellow. He eats just fine and I have not noticed him rubbing on anything.

What sort of QT did you put him through? He looks malnourished as well, so it is likely he is having at least internal parasites....and without more info, that may be an external parasite. I would treat with PraziPro if you haven't already. The bubble could just be an injury, but I worry about his diet too.

I have not treated him in any way yet. And he eats everyday mysis shrimp.

Try to feed him something other than mysis shrimp. Mysis shrimp are like potato chips for us... I would always try to feed him nori, and alwasys have it available, by a veggie clip.. Also try to feed him pellets.. He should eventually go for it.. Start garlic treating also..
This is more than a hobby; its a lifestyle.

It won't matter how much or what quality food he's eating if he has internal parasites.

Treating any possible parasite is top priority. Once that is taken care off, I would suggest adjusting his diet. While they will, and should, eat all types of meaty food, it is imparitive they are offered marine based algae and or seaweed.

I would also try QT the guy and treat the tank with prazi pro, that can be found at your lfs.

So quick question how do they get parasites? And how can I avoid something like this in the future?

Stress- from malnutrition or overcrowding (too many fish or not enough swimming room) and recently added livestock already infected... to name a few.
