What's the best light to put on a refuge and how long to leave the light on?

Sorry for the question but what is a "par" light?

I have my refuge set up on a reverse daylight schedule. So when my main lights of my Reef tank turn off my lights in my refuge turn on.

Im using some cheap LEDs I hade laying around but I think a clamp on light fixture and a plant bulb from the hardware store make a great refugium light.

I agree. At this point in time, considering the high cost of LED lighting, what we have come to call the "Home Depot Special" ($8 aluminum cone reflector with a $3 Daylight ~26W color twist PC bulb) is a very effective and economical RDP Refugium light.

This is one of my all time favorite setups. Smile
