Beautiful acros. They all look really happy. I'll take one of each.

Your polyp extension is 10 times that of mine, but I have these little pesky angels that think polyp extension is a treat.

Ohhh, but they're such beauties! That's a toss-up on which I'd rather have. I'm still toying with the idea of a Regal, but we'll see.

I would go for it. You will never regret it . They are such gorgeous fish. The only problem you will have is that you will want more.

ARRRRGHHHH...such a beauty!! How's the temperament? Any nipping? I keep seeing gray bellied ones up for sale, but I definitely want a yellow.

Yea hold out for a yellow. She is quite shy when others are around. I have never seen her nip at my acros, but I have seen her nip at my gorgonia . I wouldn't have a reef without one now. I've had a regal angel in my tanks for ten years now.

Mike, the 5th photo down is the most crazy bright green Acro ever, but I can't seem to capture the color. Is there anything you'd recommend trying? |
First I would use a custom white balance, pumps turned off, and no flash. Second I would shoot in raw format and adjust in post processing.

Thanks Mike. I'll work on the white balance. I've never post-processed anything, but I do have Photoshop (and my P&S camera will shoot in RAW). I'll start practicing. Here's a teaser on the new lights. Ignore all the wires...it's a lot cleaner than how it looks there...

You should see the polyp extension at night!! I have a couple acros that extend polyps up to 1/2". I'll try to get some night shots up.
I still don't know the secret to good sps PE. Sometimes it's great...or nonexistent other times. I haven't found a reliable cause...

Nikki, Whats the third to last one in your pictures? Echinata of some kind? Maybe Pearlberry? White tubular structure with blue/purple tips. I can't believe how long you have made us wait for this lighting update.

| The Acro was sold to me as the ORA Hawkins Echinata. I'm pretty confident in the source, but it does look slightly different. Ugh, my paper is over 80 pages long, and I'm nowhere near done. You'd never believe how much work has gone into the LEDs. I promise, it'll be worth it.

Fine, fine, fine...here are some really horrid shots with terrible white balance... It's not done. I'm still adjusting things....

So Nikki I was doing some research and I have now convinced myself that the Echinata that Nick, Thu and myself have is the Hawkins and that yours is an Ice Fire Echinata. Could that be the case?

Nope, nope, nope. I have the Tyree Icefire Echinata...they're totally different. I swear it's the Hawkins...looks like every other one I've seen. I'll double check with the previous owner if he's still around.
