    Posted: April 02 2005 at 11:34am

Howdy folks,

The IMAS reef tour is on April 9th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and we hope that some of you might be able to make it up...

This year we have a total of 11 tanks at 10 different homes  and businesses for the tour and we hope it is as successful as last years. Just pick which homes you would like to visit, map your route, then jump in your car on the morning of April 9th and enjoy. At each tour location, you will be treated to a basic educational briefing in an attempt to acquaint you with the basics of this wonderful hobby. The tank owners experience range from less than a year to more than ten years but all the tanks are beautiful. There are a wide range of tank sizes on this tour, from a beautiful 75 gallon SPS dream reef to an impressive 475 gallon reef system sitting in a room next to a 600 gallon system.

Here is a link to the PDF file with the maps...  http://www.idahoreefs.org/ReefTourMap2005.pdf

Thanks,

Scott, my seahorse friend Lindsay says she has to do some Army thing that weekend! Can you talk to the ROTC guys so she can be there?

Rob and I are cruising up. Do you think we can see all the tanks in a few hours?

And, is there a trail that cruises by a river in your city? Maybe we should bring our bikes?

Suzy,

Lindsey was originally going have her tank on the tour but she ended up having to do the ROTC thing.

All the tanks except for one, are within a rectangle area that is 8 miles long by 5.5 miles wide. Two of the tanks are in businesses and the rest are in homes.  Kim and Jenny's tank is in Nampa which is another 30 minute drive but I am sure we could make arrangements to accommodate you so you can see all the tanks you want. The PDF document has a Boise/Meridian and a Nampa map that shows where the tanks are in relation to each other.

There is the "Green Belt" that runs along the Boise river.  It runs from Albertson Park to Lucky Peak dam and is somewhere around 8 miles long.

Thanks,

Scott

If anyone has room in a carpool, I would love to hitch a ride.

There is a group of us that are planning on leaving early Saturday morning and returning late that night (it will be a long day).

I am sure you can get a ride with one of us.  We are tring to figure out how many cars we will need to make the trek.

Should I put you on the list?

Robert, Rob and I are planning on leaving a bit early and a bit late, and taking our cocker with. And, I plan on doing some smooching at the red lights and playing a lot of hair band 80's tunes....want to ride with us? The Grand Am does have a back seat, and you could have a little elbow room if we put the seat down and you sat on top into the hatch back...

Now I wonder if Rob and want to drive up in our car! I have to
pick between smooching with Mr Sexy or laughing my butt off
all the way to Idaho!

(Probably should pick number #2, so I can bag this stupid
Atkins diet thing!)

Your right.  I guess I better get the front seat so I am not sitting next to anyone.

So I guess what I am saying is "shotgun".

Jake - I'll condition the leather for you!

Seriously,

I'll have a couple more seats available if more people want to ride along. The more the merrier (and cheaper)!

Adam, just make sure to bring your U of U stadium seat pad, my knees get pretty uncomfortable to sit on after a while.  If we get too many people going we might have to strap someone on top.

I'm actually kind of surprised we haven't heard from Mark.  He's usually into this kind of trip.  He must have a girlfriend of something.

I agree.... poor guy.
As for riding on the car.  I'm not sure what the correct term is, maybe hood?  Whatever it is I'm calling it before even Suzy gets dibs "Hood"!

I can't believe I'm saying this 'cause I think there might be just a
bit too much testosterone in this car, but if there are 2 seats left
on Saturday, we'd love to inhabit them. i don't want dibs on the
hood, though.....and, I won't mind sitting on Mr Bigs lap! ( He
might, though!)

Can I bring some hair band cds?
