If you are going to use LEDs I would go with one of the fixtures with full spectrum. The radion is the nicest on the market. We have had customers change out their radium metal halides for the radions from Eco tech without losing any color in their sps.

However they are a PITA to program and change.

I personally have grown to love LED's in the short amount of time i have used them. They are costly upfront but remember you don't have to switch out the bulbs every few months and on top of that i have no heat coming off of them at all.

On a customers 210 we first installed three, it took him 5 seconds to decide he wanted another one. That is a standard 210. Size 72 x 24 footprint. The two on the ends go long ways the center two go front to back. Has grown his corals like crazy, with dosing. Lol.

I have a dyi fixture and switched from a mh+t5 fixure about two months ago with zero color loss. Only thing I lost was my temp swings and power bill!

I would guess that 3 of the radion fixtures would give you nice even coverage, however one of the fixtures would need to be over the center brace. Another option could be two fixtures and some t5s to fill and give even coverage throughout the tank.

build two DYI with LEDs that have a wide angle, then for mounting, do a half semi circle on each fixture over each opening and close (couple inches) to the water. That may give you the spread you need.
otherwise, get the fixutes u plan on and then a couple strips of LEDs over the center brace to fill in. No need to go backwards with fluorescents in the mix.

Updated pics

There is 3 outlets in the fishroom each with its own 20a breaker. Each has its own ethernet cable and conduit linking each other together. I have them about 7ft off the ground. There is also a fan for ventilation which pulls in fresh air in through the cold air intake

Got the sink & RO unit rough plumbed. The last pic is the main display plumbing running through the wall

Awesome set up! We've got a 265G display plumbed through the wall to a 75G isolation/frag tank and a 50G sump in the garage. We love having a seperate room for all the mechanical. I am betting you'll want 4+ LED fixtures on your main display. However, three may be enough if you go with the new Ecotech Radions. Either way, you're looking at close to $3,000 in lights for just your display. I'm rather old school and chose to go MH and VHO combo again. While I may very well switch out to LED's someday, we are very happy with our current set up, which set us back $1,100. I bet you'll be close to a five year break even cost with the LED's and at that point, there will probably be even more lighting options to choose from. So I don't think it's so much about the cost but rather personal preference. Kepp the updates coming and enjoy! The builds are my favorite part.

Every thing is looking really good.  I have 3 AI blue's over my 220g tank.  I did have colors drop off a little for the first 2 months when I will bringing the lights up.  I am now runing them just about 100% and the color is starting to come back up.  I did also add so T5's for a noon spike of like the are on for about 2 hours a day.  With the shorter time I am guessing that I can get a year+ out of the T5's.

Next house I am putting in a fish room for sure.
