Took my first attempt at building a sump today. Went smooth, made a mess of the silicone. But all in all looks good. Now I get to wait for it to dry so I can test out how well it went!

This is right after i put it together, i had the local glass shop cut it all up for meWink

Not the cleanest job, but i can come back in a few days and scrape off some of the mess.

This is the tank it will be going under, unless i build a bigger stand. Then i will make a bigger sumpWink

Did you make sure your baffles are low enough, so when power goes off there is enough room for the extra water

I should have about five gallons to play with. And the sump is going under a 29 gallon tank. I've got flexible 1/2" returns I'll be putting on, so I'll be able to adjust them accordingly. I'll post pics and updates as its being built.

It holds water so far, I'm going to fill it in the tub and let it sit for a few days to make sure. I also got almost all of my pluming in today. I'll be running a HYDROFARM ACTIVE AQUA SUBMERSIBLE WATER PUMP 800 GPH, Eshopps PF-800 Overflow Box, Eshopps Float Valve Auto Top Off connected to a 5 stage RO unit, CPR Pre-Filter Sock holder 4", and other misc.

3/16" I was thinking 1/4" but noticed the 29 gal is 3/16" so I think it should be fine. It looks sexy with the tape off though.
