I just wanted to show you a different way of mounting your Monti.
This one i mounted Vertically and it has grown very well on both sides.

Very nice man! I love it! I'm currently training a sour apple colony to grow in a vertical column. Corals are amazing!

What stores do I recommend?
Up North: Bill ( Saltwater Paradise 801-317-8115 )
Down South: Jerry ( Reef On 801-563-0600 )

NICE pic!

Yeah... it will plate out horizontal asap... thats where the light is.  But you can certainly mount it any old way you want at first :)

Kinda did this a few times... they will end up as big horizontal spiral plates eventually..

I like the idea presented though, purposely mounting a small frag vertically will get you growth out of it in an interesting pattern to start with.

The longer I have these and a variety of them in my tank the more I appreciate the surface of a Monti as an amazingly beautiful thing.  The undulations and polyps are like looking at a strange planet that glows....
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler -A.E.
57 Gallon RImless build in progress check the thread before if becomes boring and just full of nice pictures of colorful coral!
