I wanted to ask peoples experience with Red Coris Wrasse in a reef aquarium.  Some websites say no, some say with caution.  I have some soft corals in the tank he is with now and he isn't touching them.

Tileman feel free to chime in :-)

I had one for over 2 years and grew to almost 8in.
Beautiful fish but comes with a price.
1-Plan on a budget for replacing your snails.
2-Don't plan on keeping anything  on the sandbed, he will dig under them and flip them over.(clams included).
3-Plan on using some form of mechanical filter cause this thing is a digger. He will literally cause sand tornados in your sand bed. Kinda cool to watch but makes a  major mess.
I removed mine about 6  months ago and its been really nice to be able to utilize my sand bed.
Oh sorry not Tileman bu7t thought i would share my experience.
Here is a post that i put  up awhile ago. Couple years looks like.

I had one for a while and he never bothered any coral or inverts. The only thing that bothered me is that he would turn all my frag on my sand over looking for bugs. he made a real mess, so he had to go.

Interesting point.  I don't keep snails anymore anyway but I'm not too fond of the sand bed being thrashed.  I have other wrasse and they pretty much leave the sand alone except to sleep.  I got rid of my gold head goby - sand sifter- because he was always making a mess.

Did you ever notice picking at corals?

I never noticed him bothering any corals at all. but as you know each fish is going to be a little different.

My experience was similar to Paul's.

Mine would constnaly flip over anything on the sandbed looking for pods underneath.

Lost 2 Fungias because they sat upside down all night long. One of them was over 4" across; I would have never thought a 3" fish could have moved it, never mind flip it over.

Other than that, mine never bothered any other corals. Never bothered any other fish.

Shame, because they are a pretty fish...

I've had one for the last couple years. Super beautiful, and no problems.
