I had a 24 DIY cree led fixture with 12 RB and 12 white can't remember what ks but it was plenty of light. Also check out aquastyleonline.com they are bridgelux.
This is what I am putting together to light a 30g frag tank 24x24x12. 4x 5w cool white 8k 4x 5w blue 442nm 4x 3w blue 468nm 2x 3w red 660nm 1x 3w yellow 590nm 2x 3w green 520nm 4x 2.5w uv 415nm I bassicly just copied the spectrums and number of lights from a radion pro. I am using mainly cree with a couple phillips leds. There are a bunch of "right" ways to do it. My philosophy was to run more lights than I need and have a lot of dimmable channels so I can fine tune it all and not have to run any leds at 100%.
We have built about 10 sets of 24 led fixtures. My son is goting to sell a few. He has been using royal blue, UV, andva mix of whites he can build you just about any you would want. Dimming drivers via pots or a controller.
