My clown fish's stomach started to discolor yesterday and I woke up this morning and now his skin is falling off.  Is there anything I can do to save it??

A photo would be helpful. Do you have a qt tank?

Sorry, I can't see what's going on from such a small picture. Do you have a larger one?

Its probably a bacterial infection. Put it in qt and start some medication treatments. Someone else will have to chime in for the particular type.

The nastiest bacterial infections are gram-negative (particularly Vibrio). I use Furan-2 and Kanamycin for those. But, without seeing what's going on...I can't take a good guess.

It could also be Uronema or Trichodina... I'd do a freshwater dip with methylene blue for 5 minutes before going into the QT.

Without a diagnosis, there is no way to claim a cure. If it is bacterial, a freshwater dip and copper will not do anything. If it is uronema, freshwater dips will help, but formalin is the drug of choice. If it's an internal parasite, PraziPro may help.

Nikki knows her stuff, I'd listen to her advice. It would be really helpful if you could upload a larger photo.

Thanks Faith.

I worry that we may not see a photo... The time a fish has left with a bacterial infection can be measured in hours...rarely days. I'm hoping it wasn't bacterial....
