I have frequently seen people with Triggerfish in their reef tanks. I'm wondering what people's experience has been, if they're really reef safe, and if they are cleanup crew safe.

Thanks!

As far as I've seen Niger triggers won't harm much in a reef they are one of your more safe options. Most will either snack on your cleanup crew or some corals. To me some of them are like big angels and butterflies, some will be fine and some will be problems. Hit or miss.

I have had good luck with Niger and BlueJaw triggers. Don't plan on keeping any shrimp though. They just become a tasty snack.

Good to know. I've got some beautiful shrimp in there already, so triggers are pretty from a distance for me :)
