Can I put a 180 gallon on my main floor or does it need to go in the basement on the cement?
I have not failed....I have just found 1000 ways that don't work.

I have our 270 on our main floor. It all depends how your floor is supported.

Do you know which way the floor joists go? If they go perpendicular to the tank that helps a lot. If the tank also sits close to an exterior wall that you are good to go, no problems at all.

My tank will be within a foot of the load bearing wall running parallel with it and perpendicular with the joists.  The joists are "I" joists and the house was just built in 2011.
Once all of the water and everything is in the tank it will be getting close to 2500lb.  This is my first big tank.  It is just making me a little nervous haha.
Thanks for all of the input.  I will get some pictures up of the new tank as soon as I have it all set up.
