Anyway, I hope it's better. Embarrassed

The front and back grills from a box fan are like eggcrate only thinner. I'm about to try it for frag shelves in the coral farm. Water will flow through/around it much freer than eggcrate.

Aloha,
 Hug

If your box fans look anything like mine, there's NO way its going in my tank. I don't think taking it to the car wash would make mine usable in there. but good idea Mark.

LOL
Luckily, this particular fan was like new and discarded by a neighbor, so not only is it clean but it was free. Smile

Sorry, you will have to find your own broken fan and see if silly plugs will fit in the holes. Personally, I abhor frag plugs. IMO it's ridiculous that hobbyists do natural looking aquascaping and then glue fake looking plugs to it. Here in Utah we have a virtually unlimited supply of Utah Rock rubble which I collect and give away for free. Coincidentally, coral grows faster on Utah Rock than it does on ceramic plugs.

Aloha,
Mark  Hug

I'm referring to when these coral are put into a reef aquarium. The absence of ceramic plugs is beautiful.
I'm guessing that you don't live on the Wasatch Front. Maybe I should explain. MarksReef is not a display. It's a small working coral farm.
Here is the link to what I'm doing now,
and here is the link to what I hope to try sometime in the future,

Aloha,
