Been awhile; tank has changed somewhat...

Took out a whole section of live rock a few months back.

Took a couple of random shots this afternoon -

Sunday, I took a little drive up to Bird World / Pet Village in Bountiful just to check things out.

Found this little beaut while I was there:

Now, black is not a color you see too often in a reef; so when the opportunity presented itself I had to grab
this sweet 3" Black Ultra Maxima clam from Doug Clap

Here it is, getting all cozy next to its big brother the 6" Gold Maxima:

Another week and still looking good.

Tests were all same results w/ following exceptions:

Ca = 420ppm (up from 390ppm last week)
pO4 = 0.02ppm (down from 0.03ppm last week)

Took a bunch of photos on Saturday 05 / 16 - Day 78 of the new 150g Reef:

Changed out the carbon & GFO from the reactors last night.

Also ran a full battery of water tests:

SG = 1.0255
temp = 75.7 - 77.0 F ( 24 hr max swing)
pH = 8.2
dKH = 9.4
Ca = 390ppm (I dosed some calcium after testing)
Mg = 1450ppm
nH3 = 0ppm
nO2 = 0ppm
nO3 = 0ppm
pO4 = 0.03ppm
Cu = 0ppm

I think it fair to say that, after running 72 days there was no measureable longer - term 'cycle' on this system. nH3 peaked @ less than 2 ppm on day 5 - and was again 0ppm by evening on day 6 - nO3 peaked at 10ppm on day 28 and was only above 0ppm for 4 days...

The Idols are eating mysis, brine shrimp, Emerald Entree, LRS Reef Frenzy. The larger one (female) also takes Spectrum pellets. I have been leaving a 1/2 sheet of Nori hanging to encourage grazing.

Adam's worried about the idols so you better give them to him to be safe...

Moving fast Bob.

I'd be really worried about those idols.

But the corals look fantastic.

That eel is so amazing! I love the idea of them, but my wife has threatened our marriage if I pay money for a "swimming snake" as she calls them.

With the coral in the tank about a month or so now; starting to get some real nice PE and coloration coming in...

iPhone Pics:

SPS

Orange Setosa

Golden Stylopora

Yellow Milli

ORA Spongodes

Cali Tort

ORA Pearlberry Acro

This frag I got from Kevin (fatman). It was  a normal medium green when I got it.

It has colored up so much; all those growth end nodules are a brilliant neon turquoise;

this iPhone photo does not do this piece justice at all...

ORA Red Planet Milli

Bird of Paradise Seriotopa (Birdsnest Coral)

Electric Pink Birdsnest

Green Slimer Acro

Sour Apple Birdsnest

Purple Birdsnest

Orange - Polyped Lokani

Tri Color Acropora

Blue Milli

Strawberry Shortcake Milli

Orange Digitata

Neon Hydnopora

Blue - Tipped Tan Acro (foreground); Electric Green Milli (rear)
