Welcome John. Great to have you here. Tons of helpful people as well as enough reading material to keep you busy for a couple of years. Let us know if there is anything specific you need help with and we will chime in with some ideas.

Thank you. Right now I'm gathering equipment. So far i purchased the ruby36s sump, 2 pp-8 wake makers, 80 lbs base rock. Next will be sand and lights.

Lights are a very important part. Make sure you weight your options and what your results might be with each one.

Awesome! Glad to have you. There's a thread somewhere in here that is a collection of mistakes we all made when we were starting out and what we would do differently. It's a funny and entertaining read, but also has a plethora of good info for getting up and going! I bet Mark can send you a link to the thread

Thanks again. I have been reading through some of the old post. A lot of info to take in. Was looking on the beginners guide post and was wondering if that sand is still a good way to start and if its still around?

I would be happy to help in any way I can. I answered your PM about the sand and other things needed to have a reef going in just a week. I recently set up yet another tank, a 29 gal for a friend. This is the tank build thread: http://utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=79885 Aloha, Mark
