Hello, I have a general question. I own a window cleaning company based in Utah County, I've had a customer ask if i can clean the glass of their fish tank. Is there any major concerns when cleaning the glass of a fish tank that I should be aware of? the cleaner I use is called glass gleam 4 its a quality commercial glass cleaner but om not sure of the ingredients of the cleaner concentrate. Please advise.

I wouldn't use any chemicals. I personally use a diluted mix of vinegar and water. Usually two to one.

Outside of the glass?  Can't think of a reason why there'd be a problem.

Distilled/RO water usually works well. Vinegar works well if the salt is caked on. Nothing fancy needed here.

Are you spraying the cleaner on or mixing it in a bucket and applying it with a swab? Most cleaners are safe as long as they are not sprayed onto or around the tank. If you were to use rag or swab to carefully apply the cleaner to the glass (don't allow it to drip) and then wipe off completely then I see no issue at all.

Spraying a cleaner then places that cleaner into the air where it can then settle on the water surface of the tank or the filtration and cause bad things to happen.

RO water with a little vinegar does work great and can be sprayed as well.
