I'm looking at changing out a mag 9.5 to a DC pump so I can quiet things down and run less power. I've seen several online but the only one I've had experience with has been the Vortech. It's way too pricey right now though.

So, does anyone have experience with the jebeo, Skimz, Quietpro, Diablo, etc.? Let me know your thoughts on longevity, ease of use, reliability, and all that jazz.

I have two Jebao DCT 12000 running for over two years without issue. I had a DC9000 running for a year before it quit (water leak into internal motor winding's). I have a DCP15000 as a backup but have not installed it yet. The DCP models have a huge controller compared to the DC and DCT models and the threaded connections on the volute may not match the same size as a DC or DCT pump of the same rating (just FYI).

I also have a Vario S running on a skimmer that has just over a year on it without issue. I like that it's controller is Apex ready and plugs directly in.

With my new setup I swapped my mag 9.5 for the Jebao 12000. Completely silent although im old and hard of hearing I don't hear anything. I love the soft start so no explosion of bubbles into the tank, freaking the fish out. Not to mention being able to control the output is a nice addition.

From everything I have heard, Jebaos need to be submerged.  I also prefer hard plumbing...

I bought a jebao dct6000.... I didn't think it would be too much but i'm currently running it on its lowest setting..... I'll still need to decrease flow using a valve but I need to replace the o ring on that as it leaks everytime I do. But running only at around 13 watts is a lot nicer than 93!
