Hey guys I know I've not posted in a while... sorry. Anyhow I've got an idea for a filter that I wanted to run past you all and get your opinion.
Perhaps it's been done before or I'm an idiot for thinking of it but I thought it would be a cool Idea to build a 4 stage filter underneath my little 30 gallon tank using RO filter canisters. Here is my thoughts broken down in filter stages-: 1st Stage: Cheato Reactor (use clear RO canister and wrap it in a strip LEDs), 2nd Stage: LR Rubble in a darken canister, 3rd Sage: LR Rubble in a darken canister, and 4th Stage filter floss to remove particulate. Then I would hook it up to an Eheim pump pushing it back up to the tank.
Maintenance would probably be just replacing the filter floss once a month or so and the rest should run itself for years. I've also successfully built a CA reactor for my 235 using 2 RO canister filters for the last 4 years so I know on principle it should work.
Currently I'm running an Eheim canister filter on it and I like that it's so quite but I don't think it's doing as good of a job my idea would do.
So what do ya think?
