that be?

Funny, those are the exact same things I wonder myself about me not getting elected.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread very well.  How did my name get on the officer's list?

Adam, you're young! You have your whole life ahead of you! I'm old and
really have nothing left to live for....(except the trip to BELIZE!!!!!).....

Will, you are even farther down than me!!!! And, even if Adam does the
right thing and changes it to LAST NAME alphabetical, you're still way
down there!

But, hey, either way Adam or Blundell is still on the top!!!! Geez, whose
plan was that?

Is the pathetic, whiney approach working?

So, my brother-in-law just won Mayor......What did he do?.....I walked the
hood and put door knockers up.....he did a debate thing......did some
meetngreet thing....put up lawn signs.....

Hmmmm....

Well here is my take...

I guess they are responsible for planning the meetings, attending presidency meetings (every 3 months or so), running the meeting (keeping everyone quiet, taking money, setting up chairs), and a whole ton of behind the scenes conversations.  Some presidency members have other specific tasks, like Will is taking care of the finances or Suzy is the club greeter.  But for the most part it is just a group of who can pitch in help in whatever areas.
We talk all the time about "what should the club do about this guy" or "would this make an interesting meeting" or "who is going to pick up the reef tour signs" and email conversations like that.

thanks for the "nomination", but I have too much on my plate for the time and my work schedule would limit my abilities to show up.

Sorry, but I have to decline.  Between my full time job, my business and my family I would not have anytime to help out.

Kevin,  I have taken you off the list.  Thanks.

Let me just rant for a little bit.

<--Start Rant-->
If you have been nominated for a presidency position and do not feel like you can at least commit to checking the message board often, attend the occasional presidency meetings, come to the regular meetings (at least almost all the time), and volunteer to help where need, the PLEASE decline your nomination.  There are plenty of people that are ready and willing to serve in the presidency.  We won't look down upon you.  In fact I would rather have some decline the nomination if they don't have the time, desire, etc. to serve.
<--End Rant-->

Thanks

Jake,

Nicely stated. Its only fair to the those in the presidency that everyone contribute. And - you're right, if people don't have the time right now, then they should decline and volunteer at a later date.

That being said - its a lot of fun being in the presidency and helping with the continued success of the club. So, if you have the time and desire then lets do it!

I nominate Adam.....Banana Tropics! King o' Microalgae!

<--continue rant-->
You gotta come early to help set up chairs and stay late to put away
chairs! You gotta chase down reef tour signs, and deliver packets and
tour crapoola! You gotta PM the SeahorseGoddess often and give her
frags!
<-- end rant -->

I am speakless that I am on the list but would like to be removed....  Sorry this is so late I didnt know....

Sure; just like a politician to change his name and then run for office.

Oh, yeah. I'd be happy to nominate Adam (BananaTropics) for the Presidency Council.
